The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
In the TV Series, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel , Midge (the wife of a wannabe comedian), has her world turned upside down (for the better) when her husband leaves her. At a glance, her marriage appears perfect. She is on top of everything at home, lives in the Upper West Side with her affluent family, and takes care of everything for her husband, Joel. During the pilot episode, Joel tries to perform his own comedy skit and fails terribly, Midge discovers that he is cheating on her, and Joel leaves because he is no longer happy. The series takes place in the 1950s in New York. Midge appears to be like any other woman in the 50s, but as the pilot continues, the viewer sees that there is more to Midge than what she allows others to see. When Joel leaves Midge, Midge's mother starts to cry and dramatically passes from room to room in her penthouse. Both Mudge's parents ask her what she did to make Joel leave and her father eventually tells her to go find Joel and bring him bac...
